i feel it's time for a virginia tech rant. i came across the plays cho seung wrote today and let me just say they are pretty neat... don't get me wrong and stop reading. in fact, please keep reading because i'm going to sound like a jerk if you don't. these aren't neat in the fact that cho seung was a very disturbed man kid, but because it gives you a little insite on what kind of person he was. i remember the columbine tragedy, didn't think i'd ever hear of something of this extent ever again. every school should have upgraded their security back them, i read an article in the paper today announcing all of the surround colleges' plans to upgrade now. but what really pisses me off about the whole thing, is that he killed two people in the dorms before he went on the mass-murder spree. why wasn't it prevented, if there was several hours between them? that was like the whole twin tower things, the second building started evacuating after the first building got hit and they were told to get back to work. and then what do you know... *booom* the second tower gets hit. the last two night school classes we watched world trade center and united 93, both movies were amazing and you all need to see them. but to the point about the movies, i'm so glad they were made because they gave me an entirely new understanding about what went on on september 11, 2001. i almost put 2004 there, because it sure as hell doesn't seem like it happened 6 years ago. i remember it was 12th grade, we sat in homeroom all day watching the devistating news. when columbine happened i believe i was in 10th grade, no discussion in school what-so-ever. that may have been because it was an elementary school and they didn't want to scare us, but my brother was in middle school and i remember him telling me they didn't discuss it either. now here comes the virginia tech, and still no discussion. it's like what the fuck, come on. i want to discuss this and i know other students do. of course it scares all of us shitless, but we're old enough to handle it. obviously 9/11 was way more tragic than this was, but this is america and we need to be able to discuss our currect issues.
i'm not much of a prayer, but the victims and the victims friend and families really need them right now.
if anyone is interested in reading the plays;
